Energy Management - ISO 16001

FPM have a commitment to sustainability from both in the communities in which we work, but also to the environment. We are and will continue to strive to fulfill our obligations and look for new ways to provide sustainable solutions in all area of our business.
 
In order to manage our emissions and reduce them in the coming years, we are taking a number of actions.
 
We have engaged a Carbon Management specialist, Andrew Verney, to work with us in identifying ways in which we can improve our environmental sustainability.  He will be working on a number of initiatives over the next few months and may want to discuss sustainability issues with you. We are also seeking accreditation under BS EN 16001, The Energy Management Standard. This accreditation will sit along side BS EN 9001, 14001 and 18001 that we already hold and adhere to.
 
Our drive towards gaining 16001 will involve reviewing our existing procedures and improving the way in which we manage our energy use. The accreditation process over the next four weeks will involve a lot of information gathering and analysis by Andrew and by assessors from QMS.
 
We are committed to identifying the areas that account for the highest energy consumption and working hard to reduce them.  We will also continue to investigate renewable sources of energy, such as the installation of Solar PV panels on the roof of our HQ building.
