Foodbanks in Norwich and Colchester received a huge boost on Friday 16th December when local landlord, Cotman Housing Association, delivered boxes and boxes of food to them.
Staff at both Cotman’s* offices in Bowthorpe and Colchester, have been busily collecting vital foodstuffs such as pasta, soup, cereal and baked beans as part of their Christmas campaign to support the Norwich and Colchester foodbanks. But they didn’t stop there, they also contact a number of their local partners and contractors, asking if they would also like to take part.
Fosters Property Maintenance, Seddon Property Services, Lovell Partnerships and RG Maintenance all jumped at the chance to be involved. Fosters went one step further, contacting local businesses on the Bowthorpe Employment Estate if they would also like to contribute.
Their combined efforts saw an amazing result with several boxes of much needed food handed over to foodbanks in Norwich and Colchester.
Vivien Farrow, Cotman’s Managing Director said
“The foodbanks help people facing desperately hard times all year round and the current recession sadly means there is an ever increasing demand for the service. Many staff have made donations in lieu of Christmas cards and we have been especially pleased by the additional support to our campaign shown by our repairs contractors, Aaron and Fosters.”
Steve Foster, Director, Fosters Property Maintenance added
“As a local business Fosters are always pleased to support local charities, and during the festive period we could not think of a more appropriate charity to support other than Foodbanks”
